Behavioral Health Intervention Services
Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) Providers assist children in learning age appropriate ways to manage their behavior. BHIS services can also be provided to adults that meet specific criteria.
BHIS services address the following:
- Communication Skills
- Interpersonal Skills
- Conflict Resolution
- Problem Solving
- Cognitive Flexibility
Services can be provided in the following ways:
- Individual sessions with the child in the home, community, school, or at the office.
- As a family addressing family dynamics and how those dynamics affect the child.
- As a crisis intervention to de-escalate situations where the child is upset or acting out.
How can BHIS help?
BHIS providers teach skill building that help reduce or end problem behaviors. They assist children in learning age appropriate ways to manage their behavior.These services are action-oriented in which a child and their family work with their provider and demonstrate the skills being taught. Interventions focus on conflict resolution, problem solving, social skills, relationship skills, and communication.
